Before you begin
- Access to the institution DNS provider and accurate branding files.
Complete the task
-
Upload institution branding
Add the web and mobile logos and save them. If no logo is available, supported communications fall back to the institution name.
-
Set up MailFrom
Add the institution’s sending domain in System Settings. Publish the DNS records displayed there, verify the domain, SPF, DKIM, and any additional DKIM selector shown, then configure the sender display name and generated sender address.
-
Set up the Portal URL
Enter an institution-controlled subdomain and save it. Follow the ownership verification instructions shown on the page.
-
Publish the displayed CNAME
The institution’s IT administrator creates the CNAME at its DNS provider using the exact target currently displayed in Portal URL setup. OCR for Higher Education uses devedu.oneclickrooms.com in development and edu.oneclickrooms.com in production; use the target shown on your own setup page.
-
Verify and refresh
Use Verify CNAME and Refresh Status. When a portal mapping already exists, verification checks its current status and confirms it instead of asking you to create it again.
The page uses these user-facing statuses: Internal Record: Exists, Hostname creation: Pending / Exists, and Portal URL mapping: In progress / Completed. DNS changes may take time to appear.
How branding is used
For supported communication flows, institution emails use the configured logo, institution footer, sender display name, and verified MailFrom address. Where a calendar invitation flow uses the institution MailFrom, that address can appear as its organizer. After Portal URL setup is complete, users can sign in through that custom address, and relevant account verification links use it. The standard OCR for Higher Education values are used only when an institution-specific value is unavailable.
